7 Months and a Baby Mohawk

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday weekend! I'll have a Christmas re-cap soon once I get around to uploading and editing the pictures... amongst unpacking, putting gifts away, cleaning up, etc... I wish you could get days off from housework :)

In the meantime, our little guy turned 7 months old on Christmas Eve. I feel like the first three months were slow and steady but the last four months have flown by... maybe because more of my day consists of making sure he doesn't roll off the changing table or under the entertainment center...

Here are Ky's stats:

Weight: about 20ish pounds if i had to guess. He was 19.6 at his 6mo appt...
Hair: Dark Brown but seems to have been getting darker lately
Eyes: Still Dark Brown.. but starting to lighten a bit, I think
Diapers: Size 3... but I think we're close to switching to 4's since he's pooped through his diapers a couple times this week. Oops.
Clothes: Mainly 6 - 9, but a few 3 - 6 and a few 9 - 12, depending on the brand. He's got a chubby belly so only 9month pants fit him now and he's also in 9mo sleepers.
Eating: He takes four 8oz bottles a day and eats solids twice a day. So far, he LOVES pears, apples and bananas, and he hates sweet potatoes. I've tried three times and he just makes this awful looking face, gags and then spits it out. Stinker.
Napping: Two longish naps (1.5-2 hours) a day, and then a few cat naps (30-40 mins) throughout the day.

Misc:
• Sitting up fully unassisted. Sometimes he gets a little wobbly so I put the Boppy around him to break his fall... but the other day he sat for a good 30 minutes straight and just played with his toys... NBD.

• Crawling is definitely around the corner. He doesn't like being on his back too much so he'll flip onto his tummy and lift himself up and start doing "the rock". He can move about one and a half crawls before he falls but I bet within the next couple weeks, baby-proofing will be happening. Dang!

• He LOVES songs and music. He got this baby xylophone for Christmas and his eyes just light up when it plays. He can also be soothed by singing... whenever he's upset or cranky, I just need to break out Itsy Bitsy Spider or Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain" (don't ask...) and he starts rocking back and forth and smiling. I also have to sing to him now whenever I give him a bottle to keep him distracted or else he looks around too much and doesn't finish eating!

• He is obsessed with our dog. He only started noticing her about a month or so ago, but now whenever she walks by it's like Christmas morning. He starts giggling uncontrollably and lunging for her. Dora has caught on by now though and sits far enough away so he just barely can't reach her... I think she likes torturing the poor kid.

• He's a drooling machine. Still don't feel any teeth coming in but he's been sleeping horribly lately, chewing on everything, and drooling like a madman so I'm hoping something cuts through fast because this preggo momma needs her sleep!

• He giggles out loud now and it's the sweetest thing. He has a dimple on his right cheek, and his smile gets so big and he just scrunches up and giggles out loud. I love it.. I'll have to post a video soon!

• Still loves bathtime but changing his clothes is getting harder now bc my rollypolly wants to just flip over and crawl away... no more turning around to grab something out of the closet while he's on the changer!

I think that's about it! He's getting so big and his personality is really starting to shine through... He's also getting a little bit of an attitude! Last week I was feeding him pears and when I took the bowl away from his grabby little fingers, he looked me right in the eye and screamed. Excuse me?! I was thrown... I didn't know what to do so I laughed. His little mind knows what it wants, that's for sure!
